jfruiz, this is your first post on the Europe board. If you try a 'search' for "Paris and hotel" you can find loads of comments. You would want to set a maximum room rate of 190E without breakfast and 208E with breakfast (for 2) to stay at/under $250.

Here are a few threads to get you started:

We like the Hotel des Saints Peres in the 6th Arr. It is small, charming, comfortable and has a very helpful staff. The location is idea - within walking distance of most of the traditional sights and 5 minutes from two different Metro lines. We are staying in September and October for, I believe, E190 for a double - that is about $250. You can see the hotel online at www.esprit-de-france.com.

You might look at the Hôtel Mansart, in the 1st--close to the Place Vendôme, the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens, the Seine, the Palais Royal, Place de la Concorde, and many other sights.

Hi,

A great one is the HOTEL RELAIS BOSQUET located near the eiffel tower and the wonderful market street of Rue Cler. I'll be staying there myself in two weeks, a superior room for two with two beds, A/C, and huge bathroom is about $150! Also, the HOTEL MUGUET is in the same area and always gets fab reviews - it's also a bit less expensive.
In the Saint Germain area(the 6th), try HOTEL DEUX CONTINENTS. Charming, but a wee bit more money, still in your price range. If you don't need the A/C, the HOTEL LANGLOIS is the place to stay on the right bank I hear. I wanted to stay there this trip, but no A/C, and I won't take that risk in the hottest summer months. Not after last year! Check out trip advisor for more reviews of hotels. I hope this helps...
