Hotel Recommendation in Sorrento

We're staying 4 nights in Sorrento in mid June. What part of town is best part to stay in? Preferably quiet with nice view of the sea, mid-high end price range.

Any restuarant suggestions for Sorrento? Thanks for replies

We stayed at the Imperial Tramontano in Sorrento you can walk all over town and to the hydrofoil. We had a corner room overlooking the sea and Mt Vesuvious - it was beautiful with a nice balcony. I would stay there again. they were also very quick to reply to my e-mails.

We stayed last month at Il Nido after much consideration of staying right "in town" or a few kilometers above town. We were glad we chose to be away from the congestion and crowds of town. Il Nido has a free shuttle bus to and from town that suited our needs to shop and sightsee. The views were tremendous and although we were very close to town, it seemed like we were in the middle of a beautiful lemon grove in the countryside.

Ditto the Il Nido recommendation, we were there last month.

Also, they have a wonderful restaurant with extremely good food, reasonable prices and fantastic views!

The Aminta is nice and is not as far out of town as Il Nido. www.aminta.it or www.ilnido.it

We stayed at Hotel Settimo Cielo (www.hotelsettimocielo.com. It is a 7 or 8 minute walk (uphill) from the centre of Sorrento on the Capo. We booked a room with a terrace and had an amazing view over the water - I believe all their rooms have views over the water. The cost was 140 euros a night and included breakfast - served inside or outside the dining room, again with an amazing view of the water. The hotel also has a pool. The photos on the website will give you an idea of the location of this hotel, which is terrific value for money.

Hotel Minerva is about a 15 minute walk uphill from Sorrento, but the bus service is very easy to use and its an easy walk into town. It has a website hotelminervasorrento.com - we had a wonderful stay there several years ago.
