Frankly, I'm sorry I never got to the Mugeut..I wanted to see that dog!!! Was a poodle as I understand. So what else? I heard so much about it I was dying to see it. Maybe they'll get another one..this hotel with very few exceptions has always gotten great reviews from those that have stayed there and like I say, I think the dog is gone so if the price is right and they have the space, I certainly think you should still consider it while possibly also looking into some of the other suggestions.

dannyyoung,

I will repost what I said before about someone looking at a triple at Muguet.

In May 2004 we stayed in a room at the Muguet which was a superior, I think, but it could well have been a triple.

It was one flight up from the highest floor the elevator went to - perhaps the 5th floor. The ceilings were slanted (like an attic) and it had a view of Eiffel Tower.

The room had a large double/queen bed with a good firm mattress. The third bed was tucked in a corner against the wall. It looked smaller than a standard American twin, but I think it may have been. I can't tell you anything about the mattress. Since it was just my husband and I, we used the extra bed as a staging area for our clothing.

In addition to the beds, the room had a wardrobe that one could hang clothing in and a desk with a small tv on a portion of it. There was also a luggage rack.

The bathroom was spotless and perfect with surprisingly plush towels. The room had a tub, but no curtain, so there was some getting used to the whole handheld nozzle thing, but it worked out fine.

Overall, we were very pleased with our room and with the hotel in general. In fact for the price, it totally exceeded our expectations. We wanted a moderately priced hotel in the 7th that was attractive and clean. Muguet fit the bill. There was also internet access in the sitting room area of the hotel. There was a charge for it, but I don't think it was too much considering the convenience.

We would definetely stay at the Muguet again.

Best wishes,
Sally

We have stayed at the Muguet on several occasions and found it very comfortable and the staff pleasant and helpful - if reserved as someone else has noted. We have never had a problem with the dogs, I quite regularly patted them in the foyer without incident. The upper rooms ending in'1' have a (limited) view of the Eiffel tower and are quite spacious being fitted out for 3. Generally the rooms foward of the staircase are quite good sizes, but those to the rear are quite small (typically Parisian). We have always found this hotel to be spotlessly clean. There are many restaurants in the area - our favourite is Le Maupertu at 94 Bvde La Tour Mauberg.
