Hotel in Naples
Any recommendations for a hotel in Naples. I'm flying out of Naples after a 2 week vacation (Rome, Positano, Capri) and would like to spend the last night in Naples so I am close to the airport in the morning. Actually something cheap would be good considering the amount I have already spent on hotels throughout the trip.

Thanks for your help!!!

-Ken

If you want to be in the center of Naples (by the main port: Stazione Marittima), and very close to the airporter bus stop (CLP Bus Lines in Piazza Municipio, first bus at 6:00 a.m.), check out the website for the Pensione Bella Capri. There are of course better choices in better neighborhoods, but they cost more.

GAC: I'm considering the Bella Capri for a trip next spring, but leaning toward the Hotel Toledo, a little bit north of there in what appears to be (to a never been there) a colorful section of the old city. Are you familiar with this hotel or its surrounds? Would you recommend it to a female traveling solo?

I actually have not been to either hotel, although I know exactly where both are located. Maybe Vincenzo can offer an opinion. The hotel Toledo is a bit more expensive (three stars v. two stars), and is indeed in a more "colorful" area of town. It is better situated for visiting the Museo Archeologico and taking the Ferrovia Cumana and Circumflegrea. It is also close to the Montesanto Metro Station and the funicular to the Vomero. Bella Capri is extremely well placed for taking the overnight ferry to Palermo, Cagliari or the Aeolian Islands, and is 50 yards from central Piazza Municipio, but the promenade along the waterfront is otherwise very dull and bleak (and very noisy). You would need to exercise caution at night in either location. Let's see what Vincenzo says.
