Hotel in Marienplatz, Munich
Looking for a relatively decent hotel very, very close and in Marienplatz for a night's stay, where staff is very helpful, no hassles. My daughter likes upscale (does not have to bee super fancy). Price range US$200-300.

I'm not a frequent user of this forum - so please excuse me if this query isn't good forum etiquette (because I'm changing the subject).
Just wanted to ask Quokka a question.
Quokka, my budget sounds like yours. Was your tiny self catering apartment any good. Would you recommend it for a couple who don't mind small, but do like clean and quiet? If so, can you please give me more detail. Any other recommendations of self catering studios or flats would be appreciated - would like to be as close to the center as possible, preferably north of the city center.

I have stayed at the Platzl, the Torbrau and others in Munich. I like the Platzl because it is very Bavarian and close to the major attractions.
Off topic, I knew someone named Jack Glasser at Rhode Island Hospital many years ago. Is there a connection, I wonder?
