Hotel in Center City

Does anyone have a recent posting or experience or recommendation of a good hotel in center city of Prague. I'll be there on 23 June for a few days (arriving by train) and would like to be in the center city as my husband has difficulty walking long distances. The postings on this board seem a bit dated, so I thought I'd just ask for some new inputs if anyone can help. Thanks.

Do you want to be in Old Town Square? I stayed at Grand Hotel Praha once, and you literally just walk right out onto the square! Rooms are very nice & the breakfast is included & is extensive & very good. I booked it through www.a-prague.com

We have reservations at Hotel Rott in Old
Town in September. It has mostly good reviews on www.tripadvisor.com and almost
all comment on great location. It is also
shown on website amp322 recommended to you.

Hi there,

I had the same question three months back but didn't get much response from anyone. I was traveling to Prague and wanted to find more information on hotels. So, I am happy to share my hotel experience with you.

Well, I ended up staying at the Residence Select hotel. The hotel address and phone number are listed at the end of this message. It is located in Praha 2 section. It is not exactly in the city center but it is well connected thru trams and subway. The hotel room was clean but very basic. I paid only 60 Euros per night (thru venere.com). The morning breakfast buffet was included in the rate. I was looking for an inexpensive option and this work out very well. Its an old house converted into a hotel. My room also had a small kitchenette. The hotel is about 5 min walk from the tram and the subway train station. I used to come back to the hotel around 9 pm and felt completely safe walking by myself. As I mentioned above I was looking for an inexpensive but safe option and this worked out well. If you need more information on Praha or hotel, feel free to ask. Have fun there!

Sorry, I thought you were talking about Philadelphia, so I was going to suggest the Park Hyatt....

Hi..we are going to Prague in August en route to Odesa. I posted on this sight and recieved really good information. As some one said you need to know which area you want to be in and work from there. I found the pragueexperience.com sight helpful and they answered e-mails very quickly. We ended up booking at the Kampa Garden in a family suite since I am with my husband and 2 teenage daughters and we needed a place for 4. Once you decide where in the city you want to be then there is the choice of a hotel room or apartment style then of course your budget. I have purchased of course Fodor's Prague and Eyewitness and both have web sights for booking accomodations. If you search "prague" you will find some of the exchanges where peolpe recommended web sights.....eds
