hotel danielli or europa-regina in venice

I have stayed at the europa-regina in venice and it was very nice. Has anyone stayed at the danielli? Can anyone give their ideas on staying at one vs the other? I will have my teenage daughter with me. Thanks

Lael- Have not stayed at either but since no one else has replied, I'd suggest you do a text search here (try Starwood AND Venice) as many people have asked the same or similar questions. Overall, people seem to prefer the Europa. As always, people's experiences are dependent on the room they get. A great room at the Europa is proabbly better than a lesser room at the Danielli. If you've already stayed at the Europa & have the opportunity to try the Danielli I would. Not sure how your daughter affects this decision although I gather the Danielli is a bit more formal.

I have not stayed at either, but I prefer the location of the E-R.<BR>I would not like to constantly walk through the crowds on Riva Schiavoni where the Danieli is. And the E-R is more convenient for walking to Dorsoduro, one of my favorite areas of Venice.

thank you for your input. I am leaning towards changing my reservation to the e-r esp. due to their waterside restaurant. It's only a few euros cheaper than the danielli

I've stayed at the Danielli. It is really very nice! The concierge made reservations at wonderful resturants for us. However my guess is you are going to Venice to see Venice rather than your hotel room, in which case you should decide primarily based on location (proximity to where you want to be).
