It's a nice hotel, in a perfect spot. I usually go a little cheaper because you're not in the room that much, but if you like a little luxury at a good price, it's a great place to go. Via Tornabuoni is a small street by US terms but a big street for Florence. They have a lot of high end shops, but great access to everything. There is a ponte at the end to go to oltra Arno, easy walking to the train station (but not too close), and easy walking to all the museums and markets.

I'd like to ask the same question about Hotel Albergotto, also situated on Via de'Tornabuoni?

Location? Hotel's services?

Any recomendations ? Nearest (within staggering distance) quality trattoria or ristorante ?

Colin: I don't know that hotel, but Via de'Tornabuoni is in the historic district and central to everything. There are many, many trattorias and ristorantes around. You can't miss on that street as far as being central and having a lot of things around. I just don't know the quality of the hotel you mentioned.

Thanks Ann1 for the info. It's good to know that it's situated in a good location for shopping. My wife will be pleased !!

Thanks also to fluffy for the tip about the Hotel Rants & Raves section. Unfortunately Hotel Albergotto was not listed, so when I return from Florence I'll make sure that I write up a little review of the hotel for others.
