Honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast-- April or May?

My husband and I are planning to pay for our son's honeymoon to the Amalfi Coast and Rome. They are getting married in April 2011 and they are wondering if the weather and travel would be better if they wait until May to go. Travel prices (from atlanta) seem to be about the same for both months with prices going up starting in June. Any ideas?

If they want a beach honeymoon they need to aim fo the end of May . Before that the water will be too cold and many hotels will not have pools open yet.

I think May would be better (might not be swimming/pool weather). If April, I would try to avoid the Easter time period as many schools in Europe have two week breaks.

Hi bw,

Such nice parents.

May weather will be warmer and milder.

Pictures are outstanding, Bob! I should think May would be best. They're not all that into the beach (wanted Italy rather than the usual sun and sand honeymoon), but they do want to have nice weather when they travel.
