Honeymoon in Mallorca

We are planning to go to Mallorca for our honeymoon in September. Can anyone recommend any boutique hotels? How are the beaches?

thanks.

Check also this: http://www.reisdemallorca.com/home_uk.html

It is a "chain" named Reis de Mallorca (Kings of Mallorca = not the hotels but clients). Charming old farmhouses, manors and so on.

Another place to find romantic little hotels is: http://www.agroturismo-balear.com

I have stayed in hotels from those both sites, for example hotel named Son Pont (from that agroturismo site) is just 3 or 4 rooms in the stable of a Moorish castle owned by a genuine Maltan knight. Canopy beds, a huge fireplace, old gobelins and portraits, chandeliers, breakfast in the castle's old servants kitchen... And in the middle of beautiful countryside, but still not too far from the beach.

Check both those sites, Mallorca is full of charming places to stay. I also liked one called Sa Bassa Rotja, a 500 years old farm. The bare stone walls of the room were something like 60 centimetres thick. Check: http://www.mallorca-online.com/sabassa

So that Sa Bassa site seems to have expired, but you should find it from Reis de Mallorca site.

Wider beaches are in south-east and around Alcudia. Otherwise they are usually small bays. I have never been there for a beach holiday, so I am not really an expert. But even if you decide to take a hotel from the mountain area (beautiful), you can always drive those little winding roads down to the beach. Mallorca is so small that some beach is always near enough.
