Hotels in Tarifa
Hi,
So, I have gotten great advice in this forum for my honeymoon in April. I am now on the last stretch and trying to plan 3-4 nights in Tarifa in April. I have one recommendation which is the hurricane hotel. Wanted to see if any Fodorites had any other recommendations for hotels in the area? Oh, and would be willing to hear other offers on beach towns to stay in that may be better.
Basically, we will be spending 7 days hiking/biking in national parks and looking for a good beach spot to just relax the last few days. Do some light hiking, maybe SCUBA, etc.
Thanks so much, as always, for all of the responses. I love this site - C

We too spent our honeymoon on the Costa De La Luz 13 years ago before it began to be battered by the developers - I would suggest Hotel Antonio in Zahara De os Atunes but the beach is now quite developed - it used to be the only buiding on a 7 mile long beach.
Hotel Hurricane is a good hotel and the best choice in Tarifa - haven't stayed there but drove past and it looks fine.
Tarifa is a great frontier town and the whoe area has a lot to offer - don't miss the Tuna served in Barbate hours after it has been caught.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we stayed at Hotel Punta Sure which is the sister hotel of Hotel Hurricane. Very nice rooms, nice pool and just far enough from town things are quiet.
Would recommend it to those who would be looking for a hotel in Tarifa.
That said, be ready to stop when entering the main town for a police check. Not exactly sure what they are looking for (my guess is illegal immigrants), but they never gave us anything but a quick glance.
