I am leaving for Paris on Wednesday nite and would like to go to Ariadne auf Naxos at the Garnier on Friday (Dec 5). The performance is sold out and the hotel concierge was not able to get tickets for me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

NB : they accept paiments by credit cards, but you'll have to organise the
"receptions" of the ticjkets(at hotel or at their office).
You can tell them you phone from part of Mr Monpetit.They can also give you some other revendors if there is some
possibilities, but it will be very difficult.

If it's sold out, there may be no way. I assume your concierge knows the usual local ticket agencies, and would have tried them. Otherwise, my only suggestion is the obvious -- go to the venue a little ahead of time and try to buy one from a scalper. Opera tickets to the Garnier are not that easy to get as it is a smaller venue, so not as many seats, and they can be sold out long ahead of time.

We got tickets to a sold-out opera at the Garnier a year ago by waiting in line on the day of the performance. There was a contingent of tickets put on sale something like an hour and a half before the start of the performance
