Hi. Welcome to the forum. You should re-post your question and mentionItaly as the destination you desire for your honeymoon.

And in the body of your message, you should mention what season your honeymoon wil occur.

Whatever your eventual decisions, congratulations on your new life in marriage.

Best wishes,

Rex

With 2-3 weeks, do both. Land in Rome, explore at leisure (2-3 days), train to Florence, explore at leisure (2-3 days?), train to the Amalfi coast, explore at leisure. If you are going May-September, an A/C is an ABSOLUTE MUST.

Hi PM,

Venice is one of the most romanitc cities in the world.

With two weeks, I suggest 3 days in Venice, 4 days in Florence and a week on the AC.

If you have 3 weeks, you could add a week in Rome or shorten Rome by a few days and see Naples.

Enjoy your visit.

Fly into Venice, Florence or Milan and out of Naples.

If it's 3 full weeks Rome, Amalfi, and Florence is certainly not too much. When I hear honeymoon I do think of Venice as mentioned above, it is romantic, unique and slower paced than the larger cities.

I second Ira's recommendation. We did a similar itinerary for our honeymoon and loved it. Flew into Naples and spent 4 nights in Positano, 3 nights in Stigliano (near Siena...*tiny* village), 3 nights Florence, and 2 nights Venice (flew home from VCE). If I had to do it over again, I'd do A/C, then Tuscany (only b/c we enjoyed Florence the least), and Venice.

Thank you for the great information our question is do you think there will be to much travel time if we do this in three weeks? we actually are going to be going for 18 days to give us time to unwind when we get home. so what do you think? We are going aug.28 - Sept 15

Thank You

Late August to mid Sept will give you good weather.

With the 17 or 18 days in Italy, your itinerary could have more than two destinations. Most on this board would recommend a mix of well known cities and the small towns.

What are y'all interested in? Florence is famous primarily for its museum and the renaissance. Amalfi is famous for its geography and the coast. Those strike me as not being similar.

For our honeymoon, we spent 4 days in Florence and rented an apartment for a week in Montepulciano. Spending a week in the Tuscan countryside was exactly what we needed to unwind after our wedding, and I would strongly recommend it! Tuscany is a beautiful and romantic place, and even just a few days there would be rejuvenating.

Hi PM,

If you do want to visit the Amalfi Coast during this season, my best recommendation would be to select a town (Positano, Capri, or Ravello), park yourself there for a few days -- don't even try to go anywhere else. Just relax and enjoy!

The crowds and tour groups were a horror to me and made that part of my trip much less enjoyable than I had expected.

The one big advantage of staying in Positano or Amalfi is that you can get around by boat -- much more pleasant than the SITA buses! However, both these towns are very, very touristy.

I agree, with 18 days you can do a lot.
Congrats and buon viaggio!
