Help make Rome romantic!
We will be in Rome for 5 days during our 11 day honeymoon at the end of May.
We are hoping to see as many major sights as possible in 5 days, while still feeling like we are on our honeymoon.
Can anyone recommend some fun/romantic/laid back things to do in Rome to strike a good balance between sightseeing and romantic leisure?
any especially good & romantic restaurants that are not too touristy?
thanks in advance!

I would definitely check the site
www.battellidiroma.it
I wanted to do this with my children last summer but it was too hot, and this when there this spring, we had rain.
other than that.
just being in rome is fabulous and romantic!
Lucky you to be there on your honeymoon.

Make it your goal to find a good enoteca your first day. Make it your goal to find a better one the second day. And then repeat, as you desire, perhaps daily.
You might find that Buccone, on Via di Ripeta, would work for step one, or two, or even five...

I think a picnic in the Borghese Gardens would be very romantic. And the view from the top of Castel Sant'Angelo, if you can be there at sunset, is magnificent. Same can be said for the view from the Vittorio Emanuel monument. There are many hotels with rooftop dining, and I think that would make for a romantic dinner.

Congrats philm0321 on your wedding and honeymoon.
I agree with nanb. Just being in Rome is romantic enough by itself.
But, if you are looking for something truely romantic, I will suggest making a reservation at La Pergola at the Cavalieri Hilton. The Cavalieri Hilton is on a hill overlooking Rome near the Vatican and La Pergola is the rooftop restaurant. My wife and I were in Rome for our honeymoon last August and had the privilage of dinning at La Pergola. The view is amazing (especially at night). This was truely a romantic dinning experience. The Hilton is a 5 star hotel so the restaurant is upscale. I made reservations through our hotel concierge about a week before we arived in Rome so you should have no problems at this time of year. Enjoy Rome and your honeymoon.

How could Rome be anything but romantic, no matter what you do or where you go, when you are with the one you love in this wonderful city? Agree with BC's suggestion of the top of Sant'Angelo. The view of the city is beautiful. We weren't there at sunset, which I imagine would have been even more beautiful, but enjoyed looking out of this city we so love, drinking red wine and feeding potato chips to an "Italian" pigeon who came begging. quot;>
