Has anyone stayed at the Thistle Trafalgar Square recently?

I am booked at the Thistle Trafalgar Square in Feb. I have read so many conflicting reviews on the hotel that I was curious about any recent experiences. The location is so super for us...theatre buffs...that I am willing to put up with problems...depending on what they are.
thanks
Jean

My mother and I stayed there a year ago, if that's recent enough for you. We enjoyed it very much, as you said, it's a terrific location. Great for catching the bus, too (just about every bus line going in every direction stops at Trafalgar Square). The hotel was fine, small room but not so tiny that you couldn't move around. Good size bathroom, plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower. Nice included buffet breakfast that had just about anything you could want. Have a great trip!

I have staye at the hotel for few times, the last one was this pass September. As previous post, except small room (but typical in London),there isn't really anything wrong, it is perfectly functional and adequate.

However, the breakfast room is not very large, could be quite crowded in the mid-morning.

Agree with the previous responses. I was there 4 years ago. We also selected it because of proximity to theatres and I think that's the main advantage of this hotel. Easy to get to box offices and, especially, to TKTS. Everything else about it was OK - no major problems, no particular reason to love it.
