If you're traveling during the high season, food is easy to find. If you're traveling during the off season, your choices are much more limited.
On our first visit to Wengen, we opted for the half board at our hotel - Hotel Bellevue. We found the food to be very good, well prepared and a good value. On trips we've made to the area since, we usually pass on the half board - mostly because I'm an incredibly picky eater and I'm more comfortable with a la carte choices than a fixed menu.
You can expect to pay 18-22 CHF for a plate of rosti (Swiss national dish) with any variety of ingredients, 6-8 CHF for a hearty bowl of soup with bread, 6-8 CHF for a salad, 18-22 CHF for a dish of bratwurst, rosti and a salad, 8-10 CHF for a burger, 14-19 CHF for an "individual" size pizza, 5-7 CHF for a pint of beer, 3-4 CHF for a glass of wine and about 22 CHF for cheese fondue for one.
Half board supplements usually run between 30-42 CHF per person, per day, so it's a good value if you're not a fussy eater. Half board usually consists of 3-4 courses, beverages are additional.
As far as good places to eat, I'd suggest the following:
Wengen - Hotel Silberhorn restaurant
Murren - Hotel Alpenruh restaurant and their sister restaurant the Schilthorn Taverne (great barley soup and nice salads), Hotel Alpina restaurant, Eiger Guesthouse restaurant and Hotel Jungfrau Restaurant.
Murren also has a Thai restaurant that has gotten very good comments, but it's always closed when we visit, so we haven't been able to try it out.
There's also a good restaurant in the Hotel Schutzen in Lauterbrunnen, and Pizza Mercato in the Hotel Spinne in Grindelwald is one of our favorites.
Both Murren and Wengen have COOP grocery stores, so you can grab something for a picnic or you can pop into a bakery and get a sandwich.
Hope this helps!

Yes, we returned to Hotel Bellevue. It's our favorite place to stay in Wengen. It's comfortable, peaceful and meticulously maintained. The owners Judith and Andreas Engi-Graff are fluent in German, French and English.
The hotel is located uphill from the train station. They'll come pick you up if you call when you arrive (there's a kiosk with hotel numbers and a free phone next to the station).
Our favorite room is #208 - it's the corner unit on the non-smoking floor. It has a huge two sided balcony with a great view of the Jungfrau from the bed.
In Murren we stay at the Hotel Alpenruh.
