Greece- Santorini Hotels

Hello, I am planning to spend about 3-4 days in Santorini, Greece and trying to book a hotel. There are different areas so I am not sure where should any of you recommend to stay. We are a couple no kids, love the nature. Our Budget is about 250-300 USD range .. Any recomendations ? We are travelling mid September, and can be flexible with days. Thank you!

We stayed at Aressana Spa Hotel & Suites. We got a really good price through Costco, if you are a member. It was about in your price range through Costco last year in October. Check it out {you don't have to be a member to see costcotravel.com deals}; it included an amazing breakfast every morning and transfers from airport.

How about providing some insight as to what you'd want to do in and around your hotel when you aren't out exploring the rest of the island? Is lively youth-oriented nightlife something you want or something you want to avoid?

One time, by default, we had to find a hotel fast and we were able to check in to the Santorini Palace. It was most satisfying, large rooms and bathrooms, private terraces, decent breakast restaurant, very large pool...just steps from the Fira town and best views of the Caldera (elevator beats the walk down to the Caldera). I would guess the rates fit into you budget...look it up.

On the areas .. For what it seems Fira has better views? How about Kamari and Oia?

The villages with the view of the caldera are Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli and Oia. There is no 'better', just a fantastic caldera and sunset view from different vantage points. Fira or Firostefani is where the most nightlife is available. Oia is the most beautiful and romantic village but the nightlife is limited to a few mellow bars and cafes. Kamari and Perissa Beaches don't have a caldera view but obviously you do have a sea view there, as well as a view of the sunrise. There are plenty of shops, galleries, bars and restaurants at these beaches. Prices are also less at the beach.
