Goyard handbags
The other thread is not taking new posts so mclaurie, Goyard is a wonderful line very much like Didier Lamarthe. Both produce beautiful leather goods. Berdorf carried both but have not been there recently and these two lines are very popular with well-heeled Pariseans.

Goyard was the luggage favoured by the Duchess of Windsor. Unlike Louis Vuitton, the Goyard design is a much more demure "chevron," as opposed to the rather vulgar LV initials.
You can find Goyard at Barneys New York on Madison Ave. Or visit www.barneys.com to view one of the hangbags. But, be warned, Goyard is even more expensive than LV.

I just read LV thread, got very irritated, because I do not know anything about fashion bags. I carry my $500.00 Delsey briefcase fo 3 years and no changes planned.
But if I saw nice bag and brought it and it was knockof and I was questioned at airport ... what ta >..> ???
How people are suppose to know ?
What, now I can't just buy from street vendors because it might be whatever they not suppose to sell ?

Are you asking if the street vendors sell the real thing (Vuitton, rolex, etc)? Never - how would they get hold of them? And if they were real why would they sell them for a few dollars. Anything branded from a street vendor is fake.
Or are you asking if customs cares? No - they're only interested in tracking smugglers (drugs, etc), terrorists, or swindlers (those bringing in very expensive items without paying duty on them (remember they got Betsey Bloomingdale for this some years ago?) Don't worry = the customs inspectors won;t mistake any fakes you buy for the real thing

Mimi, you can email me at [email protected]
Have you ever been to the Voyager.fr website? They have antique Goyard, but the prices are not listed, although there is an ordering form attached.
Au revoir, John G.

Hi John, thanks, I can't afford vintage or new Goyard but have seen lots of the beautiful made trunks and other luggage(what a great coffee table!) on line. I recently sold some old Voyager(london) clothes from my thinner days. Everyonce in awhile I see some pieces in Filene.'s basement. Just finished reading, a book about Ossie Clark. I loved the "Annacat Boutique"
Those were great days. I remember, I think it was, "Granny takes a trip"where I had boots made for me, so inexpensive back in those Chelsea days.
Be glad you are in England, the cold here is unbearable.
