Goodwood Festival of Speed...anyone know 2004 dates?

Last year we went to the goodwood revival weekend and really enjoyed. Thinking of going to the festival of speed in 2004. Anyone know when it will be held? We probably need to book our hotel way in advance so if you know, that would be very helpful. Thanks.

I'm almost certain that it will be the weekend before the British GP, which has now been confirmed as July 11th. Therefore the Festival of Speed will most likely be on July 4th.
Try the Goodwood Estate website and follow the links. They're not brilliant at updating it though!

I could catch, clean, cook and serve your fish but I'd much rather teach you how.

If you go to google.com and search for Goodwood, you'll get the website and with a little bit of effort will find the dates of the 2004 festival of speed.

Thanks, AR. The Goodwood website doesn't have the 2004 dates posted yet. Is the Festival always the weekend before the GP?

Found it. Dates are June 25,2 and 27. Wasn't easy to find, though.

Ah, I do apologise orangetravelcat. The weekend of July 4th is a F1 weekend next year.
If Goodwood is 2 weeks before the British GP then I will be able to persuade my dear wife that I wont be away 2 weeks in a row.

orangetravelcat, I wouldn't have chided you for the typo and had I known you had already checked the Goodwood website I'd have given you the dates or at least told you where to find them.

AR, don't feel too defensive about the bad info you gave. Now you know Goodwood does update the site and you have the correct dates for your planning next year. You're welsome.

At first reading of this question I had the same thought as you jsmith. Essentially, why do people go to the trouble to ask questions which can easily be answered with an internet search. The fact that it's about a relatively obscure event that very, very few would be familiar with and the OP had actually found and looked at the website for the event further baffles. Wouldn't it have been easier and yielded more reliable information to have emailed that website than to pose this question on a travel forum? And to top it off they get bent out of shape if you gently point this out to them or have the unmitigated gall to correct false information. Well, whatever.

The Festival of Speed is not an obscure event. It's the largest historical motorsport event in the world. I did email Goodwood from the website regarding the dates but am so eager to begin planning my trip I hoped to be able to get the dates for the event right away so I could start checking for hotels since accomodations are difficult to come by. And why am I defending myself anyway?
