Your recommendation, B'way or off, for end of July, early Aug.?

Have a long weekend in Manhattan, have seen Movin' Out, Chicago, Phantom, and Gypsy, probably not interested in Hairspray, Nine (saw it with Raul Julia a long time ago). Does anyone know how long Rosie Perez and Joe P. are scheduled for Frankie and Johnny? And is it true that Play What I Wrote is going to close? So what would you recommend?

And would really like to find a good off-B'way play -- any recommendations?

I thought Frankie and Johnny was gone. Am I wrong?

If you like Elton John music, the musical Aida is good.

Frankie and Johnny.... is closed. The Play What I Wrote closes this weekend.
If you want serious drama, you'll never see anything better than the revival of Long Day's Journey into Night.
For musicals, I note that Cabaret is not on your have-seen list. You should catch that one.

We've seen many of the listed B'way shows and our whole family liked Thoroughly Modern Millie best, if a musical is what you want. We liked it way better than the other musicals listed. But, if it is just adults, Cabaret is a must! I would kill to see Long Day's Journey, though.

How about Urinetown -- I hear the guy from the tv show ED is the lead these days. - I'm going this weekend!

Off Broadway (though may be moving to Broadway) -- "Avenue Q" - I've heard raves - something to do with puppets. (just checked - moves to Broadway july 11 - previews)

Enjoy!
