good spain hotel list
I have found that www.rumbo.es has an extensive selection of low cost AND higher end hotels.
The website is only in spanish but is fairly simple to navigate at least to help you compare prices.

Me and the missus are staying at the 4-star Hotel Dante's Inferno, which I didn't see on the list. I read about the hotel on the drudgereport.com. The words "unbelievable" and "staggering" were used to describe it. Should be great, huh???

K.. yes, i can access the list with no problem. i am the last person to ask "why" when it comes to computers!
What i have found on this list for madrid is that there seems to be more of the low cost hotels that people could find intersting who are on a budget.
if you have them listed according to price, the list goes on and on before you get to 60 euros.
then some of the more well known ones are there too.
this summer even some boutique hotels are 75 euros.
