Good budget restaurants in Paris
We will be in Paris for a little more than a week in early November - of course we plan to splurge on a few meals, but we will also be looking for less expensive places to eat. Besides picnic foods from the shops, anyone have a favorite "budget" restaurant to reccomend? We like just about anything, so all ideas are welcome.

Just go into the local cafe/brasserie and order something simple, like poulet/frites, or moules, or a 'big' salad, etc... Most of those one-dish things cost 8-11Euro. Also, try some wine bars although the wine can drive the spending there. We like the Asian 'traiteurs' (like a 'deli'), or just a pizza and salad... and so on.

Where do you plan to stay? I know you can get around a little, but it is kind of a lot of trouble to give names, details and addresses for places if you are going to be staying on the other side of Paris and would never go there.

I agree - what arr. are you staying in? My first trip I had a list that took us all over the city - now I always eat in "my neighborhood" After a long day of sightseeing I prefer to just walk to a nearby restaurant. I'm sure you can get some res's for any neighborhood you are staying in - just let us know.

Some good ones come to mind:
Bistro de la Sorbonne, 4 rue Toullier in the Latin Quarter, fabulous Moroccan food.
La Boussole, 12 rue Guisarde in Saint Germain, and its sister restaurant, la Bastide d'Opio, just across the tiny street. I assume their other restaurants are safe bets as well.

A good Italian restaurant in the 10th, Sesto Senso, 4 rue de l'échiquier.
