going to venice with a baby
My wife and I are going to venice with our baby next week and we had a question regarding baby supplies.
Are there stores in San Marco or nearby where we can by things like diapers, baby food, etc?
Or should we plan to pack everything we need for the baby before we leave?
Thanks
Chad

well there are undoubtedly babies in Venice so there will be baby supplies. but its very unlikely that the baby foods will be the same type or flavors that the baby is used to. Also, if the baby drinks formula that is likely to be different. I wouldn;t worry about making do with different diapers, etc., but given how sensitive babies tummies can be I would try to take formula and food with you. (Or if carrying this is to much why not ship it on ahead of you?)

While there are not supermarkets in Piazza San Marco, there are in Venice. Ask your hotel to give you directions to the closest. Here in Europe we have Pampers, and all the jars of baby food that you could want. I would also like to mention that most pharmacies in Italy sell baby diapers and jar food too. Bring what you'll need and don't worry, you'll find the rest here.

I can't help with the supplies, but make sure you bring a baby carrier. Pushing a stroller in Venice could be difficult (steps, cobblestone, narrow walkways). You might want to email your hotel and ask if there is a store nearby.
