gladiator school

A friend of mine said that there is a gladiator school - I guess connected to or with the ancient Roman part of the city. She thought she had gotten the info on Fodors, but I can't find anything here or in general on-line. Will be traveling with 3 children - all girls - ages 7,11,12. Has anyone heard of this or something similar?

OK - don't know what you searched - but I just googled "Rome gladiator school" and got lots of applicable links . . . . .

There is the ruins of the gladiator training area across the street from the Colosseo. Is this what you are writing about?

No,she/he's talking about a program thingie you pay for where you spend a few hours or a day or something for training to become a gladiator. It's a kids' program.

Very easily searchable on the internet.

Thanx - have found something on internet through Viator. Last few times I checked it was only the online gladiator fighting. Not sure if this is for kids though - most of the pictures look like pretty mature individuals.

Here's a gladiator school - but defiitely for adults:

viator.com/tours/Rome/Roman-Gladiator-in-a-Day-2-hour-private-lesson/d511-2466GLAD

But - you might contact them and see if there's something for children (although I must admit as a 7 or 11/12 year old girl the last thing I would want to be was a gladiator. At the younger I was deciding between ballerina and cowgirl (not having a really good feel for job opportuities but knowing how much I liked to ride).

Sounds like a hoot! I guess the kids could police up the body parts after the fights?
