What terminal do you arrive at? The TGV station is in terminal 2. There are plenty of signs.
I hope you're allowing at least 3 hours between your stated landing time and boarding the train. And that you will already have your tickets, having bought the cheapest ones 3 months in advance if that's what you want (inexpensive tickets).

do you mean where to wait once in the TGV station in terminal 2 - I found it confusing last time I did- TGV train sets are composed of two trains hooked together and I thought I was in the right half of the waiting area but me and many others found that we were in the wrong half and had to dash to the right half of the train to board - look for your car number of the outside of the train as it comes in - not sure what the confusion was with many of us but be sure you are waiting in the right half of the platform.
Best always to ask a train staffer, usually on the quais before the train pulls in.
There is only one TGV station at CDG though there are three RER stations - don't get mixed up - just follow signs for TGVs.
There are lots of restaurants and shops inside CDG to while away time.

The signs are quite clear about where trains depart. There is also a sign on the quai describing the train composition and each car´s sequence in the overall layout.
If you take a Ouigo train, boarding is done from an upper level within the terminal. Otherwise, allow plenty of time and you shouldn´t have any difficulties.
there are three RER stations
There is an RER station at Roissypôle and a second at Terminal 2. Where is the third RER station at CDG?

Lots of basic information here: http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/en/homepage
You can print out maps showing your route (or, maybe put them on a smart phone?)

A suppose you will just transit through Heathrow or Gatwick. For people staying in London, a train ride from London to Tours would be easier and faster.>
??? what was the point that I missed here? Seriously?

From London, there are at least 4 daily trains to St Pierre des Corps. 4 3/4 hrs with 1 train change. The OP has a 5 hr "dead" time in CDG, so the train would certainly be faster than air/train - IF the OP is staying in London before the flight.
But he/she already has tickets.

Yes, there are signs, but, in my opinion, they are sometimes not that easy to find or follow as you weave your way through terminal 2. But, if you have more than an hour to wait, I wouldn't rush to the TGV station either, as I don't find it a particularly welcoming (or warm) place, and it is sometimes difficult to find a place to sit.
