"Sadly, my experience is like Therese's-only times three (Toronto, Nova Scotia and Italy)!

I keep getting promised books in thanks for 'quotes' but nothing ever happens even though I diligently list my mailing address each time...I thought they might be stopped at the border or something as I live in Canada."

I was quoted last year (in the England book, about Bath), but my book never came either.

Has any person living outside the US gotten a book? I'm hopeful (being in Canada) as I don't generally have problems with shipments.

Yes, I got that email too. I was in Paris 2008, so will have to think carefully which guide I would like to receive this time as I'm not sure I want another Paris guide so soon LOL...

Fodors are great in that they will post the requested guide to anywhere in the world, and I am honoured to be included. I shall boast about it in my Christmas letter to all those I rarely see these days! Maybe we will get some new English Fodorites as a result...

Katie, thank you for the email.

Just to set the record straight: immmediately upon posting my frustration this morning about non-receipt of previously promised guides, I heard from the irrepressible Katie. I think this time it is going to work out!

I was quoted, too, in the London guide! I'm so impressed I can hardly stand it.

I really would like to have a New Zealand guide since my daughter and I are going there in February, but I just have to have the ONE!

I live in Canada and received one last year, and am also mentioned in the London guide this year. The book last year was delivered by courier and it took, I think, about a month from the time I was notified. An early Xmas present!

Congratulations Amy and all the others being quoted!

It is so neat to be quoted! I have been quoted twice. Last year I got the free guide as well.

Congrats to everyone quoted. I was quoted twice last year, and I mentioned in a lounge post that it validated my travel & Fodors forum addiction to my friends and family. I mean, if there are people who will actually spend money to buy something I'm quoted in, I must know something about travel, right? Thanks Fodors!!
