Florence Airport to Florence Train Station?
I am not an experianced traveler and could sure use some help. I will arrive at the Peretola (FLR) airport and have two hours to get my luggage, go through customs, and get myself to the downtown train station in Florence where I will be meeting a friend. Will that give me enough time to take a train or a bus or should I take a taxi to get there quickly? How long does it take to get from the airport to the train station? I understand that the train station is just a block from the bus station. It will be midday Thursday. Any help will be appreciated - Thank you

Barbara: there isn't train service from the airport in Florence to the train station. The airport isn't large, and you should be able to do it all in two hours. If I were in a hurry, I would only take carry-on, and I would definitely take a taxi to the train station. You could spend time waiting for the bus.
From the exit doors of the airport, into the taxi, and out at the train station should be 30 minutes, maximum. I am counting on a small queue for taxis, and maybe a bit of mid day traffic.
Have a great time.

Bus ride is about 20 minutes from the airport to the train station (4E per ticket two years ago) leaves every 15 minutes or so, and where it arrives in Florence is a 2 minute walk across the street to the train station - why spend the $ for a cab?
