Florence Accademia reservation problem
I read through all of the advice concerning advance reservation for the Accademia Museum in Florence. I decided to call the phone number in Florence mentioned in these threads. I tried daily for a week and always got a busy signal. Finally, I got through and was put on hold for over 15 minutes. Knowing the meter was ticking with my internation phone call, I hung up. Now on to plan B-- What is the best on line service to use? I presume we pay with a credit card on line then take the confirmation to the ticket window the day and time of our reservation? The service fees seem quite high but worth it if we can avoid those long lines. Thanks for your help.

I would try askig your hotel (by e-mail) to make the reservation for you - - though you might want to ask what is their price to do it. I thought a few euro (3-6?) would be typical. Someone recently said that the Lungarno wanted 15!

I would suggest you try different times if you haven't. I tried last week at approx. 6:30 AM Eastern time and got right through on the first ring and made reservations for the Uffizi and Accademia. The whole process took less than 5 minutes.

Thanks to everyone for their response. We are day tripping from Lucca and therefore cannot ask a hotel to make this reservation for May 22, which I presume is high tourist season. Calling at 6:30am EST would be 4:30am in Denver. I will try the website suggested.

RichardJ, I agree with LeslieC. I went to Italy last year and used www.weekendafirenze.com with no problems. It worked great. I even requested a refund on one of the tickets to the Accademia because it was included in one of the tours that came with my travel package. It took them a few weeks but I got my money back.

Need this answer, also! I've tried to call at 12:30 AM Central time, thinking that Florence is 8 hours difference. I kept getting a recording stating times office opens. I would like a reservation for next Wed. April 14 for two people.
