How to get reservations in Florence

How can I get reservations to the Accademia and Uzzani (sp?) galleries in Florence, Italy? Can anyone recommend a site? I've been told that if you make reservations, you can avoid long lines at either museum. Is this true?

It is absolutely that with a reservation you can avoid lines that are frequently two hours in length.

We had good experience with our hotel doing it for us. And the spelling is Uffizi. There are quite a few references to the telephone number here on this forum. Also might be avilable to find the number on the www.ricksteves.com website. And I believe that the website www.weekendafirenze.com also does it - - though I seem to recall that they charge a hefty mark-up.

Best wishes,

Rex
We used weekendafirenze and had no problem. I am sure there is a mark-up, but it seemed reasonable for the service and considering the alternative well worth it.

Have a look at the following page and you should find the answers you need - there is also information about the Vasari corridor:
http://www.italywithus.biz/main_page...vorites_a.html

We used www.florenceart.it. The surcharge seemed a little lower than some of the other services. It was great. You go to the entrance marked Reservations. They have your name on a short list and you walk right in. I loved it.

We used weekendafirenze and it worked fine. We did not have to wait at all! I don't remember the price being marked up that much either.
