Ferry: Naples to Positano

Hi there,

We are doing a tour of Capri that leaves from Positano.
But we will be based in Naples
We would like to get a ferry from Naples to Positano- and im trying to find out times as we need to be there for a tour at 9 or 9:30 am and will only get back at 6pm, to see whether the ferry option is possible.
It appears there will be a direct ferry during peak season (we will be there late June)
But could anyone suggest where i may be able to find times and prices of this direct ferry.

Thanks in advance

I suggest you rebook a tour from Naples to Capri as that is quite out of the way. Ferries don't run all that early or late and it would probably take 1 1/2 hours to get from Naples to Positano.

Hi! We live nearby and from all I've seen and read there's to be no ferry or hydrofoil service between Naples and Positano this year...

As I flagged up back in April, the one you probably have in mind - the Metro del Mare - almost certainly isn't going to run... last-minute minor miracles aside!

If you've already booked the tour, and can't cancel, then you might get yourselves over to Capri and join up with them when they land there?

Plenty of crossings on that route, but do expect them to be busy! For an idea of times, prices etc, try...

And see here for how to get to the separate parts of the city's harbour as used by hydrofoils and other craft...

Otherwise, ashore, it's a fair journey to Positano - and quite a pain if you need to get there for 9AM...

Thank you very much for the advice
we had not booked the tour- so luckily we can make another plan.
Clearly getting to Positano is a mission
The idea now is to get a ferry from Naples to Capri, and to find a tour that will take us round the island to see the various grottos.
is this naive to assume there will be a tour?
would it be better to book?
i've just been struggling to find something where we dont have to rent the whole boat for a small fortune!

Take the ferry from Naples to Capri; you will find boat tours to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting) once you arrive.

The motor boat consortium has a large fleet of launches offering frequent trips (weather permitting, of course):

Laser Capri also offer trips round the island:
