Family Ski Trip in Switzerland

Hi
Looking to book a ski trip late January in Swiss Alps. I am a good skier but also need to find resort with enough activities / restaurants for my wife and two young kids (2 and 4).
Thanks for the help.

Hi nico sara,

For that kind of place, you probably will want to head to a larger resort than the usual small villages recommended here.

I think Zermatt would be good for you. Although it's small, it does have a lot going on and a lot of options packed into the small village. More info at www.zermatt.ch.

Another option would be Gstaad. Although it's small, because the rich 'n famous have been vacationing and living there for about 60 years, it has a whole lot to offer: upscale shopping, gourmet restaurants, and lots of excursions. Information at www.gstaad.ch.

Hope this gets you started.

(Hi S!)

Two other options are:

Upper Engadin www.skiengadin.ch
Flims-Laax-Falera www.alpenarena.ch

Closer to the Airport Zurich:

Engelberg (ok, ski area not large enough for a full week)
www.engelberg.ch

Hello Nico_sara:

Hopefully Ingo will see your post and give you a list of options!

If you have no issues with expense, then I would say Zermatt is the place to go! Very Unique resort.

I had skied a resort that was not much known to us back in the states called VILLARS. I was very impressed with the area!

One thing I noticed was it was very, very family friendly! There must have been dozens of "kinderskiers" with instructors spread across throghout the area!

Thanks for the suggestions! Funny enough, we had been looking at Zermatt and just come across Gstaad as another option. We'll look into the other ideas too. Since we're late in the game to be making plans, availability is definitely as issue as well. Thanks again!
