Fall of 06 Rome to Paris

I am just beginning to work on itenary for a trip in the fall of 06. Would like to fly into Rome 5 days, TGV to Angouleme in the Dordogne area of France 7 days, TGV to Paris for 4 days and home from there. Is this doable? Where do I find out about TGV schedules? Thank you for any help.

Use this URL: http://www.sncf.com/indexe.htm
It's the Enlish language site.

I suspect that it would be cheaper and faster to find a cheap flight to Paris and go to Angoulême--which is not in the Dordogne--from Paris.

Hi 1J,

There is a night train from Rome Ostiense at 23:45 arriving Nice at 09:45, connecting with a train to Angouleme at 10:10, arriving at 19:48 via Bordeaux.

You can probably buy your tickets at www.sncf.com

Thank you for your help. After looking at some of the information I think we will try to rearrange our schedule. We need to be in Angouleme for a business meeting and my husband wanted to do several days in Rome and I thought I would like to do several days in Paris, but perhaps this isn't the itenary for us. Maybe we will just head south from Angouleme and forget Paris.
Thanks again...any ideas are appreciated.
