Rome or Paris?

To keep my mind of some major heartache (my mom's sick) I was wondering where you'd choose to go if you could.

I'd choose Paris at this point. I would love to go alone and just roam the city for days eating and sightsee. I'd love to stay near Norte Dame and just roll out of bed go to church have breakfast and head to the Louve. Eat Lunch right there and go back to touring the museum. I'd have dinner somewhere near my hotel and then just sit on a bench and people watch all night. At this point in my life I think I just might start to drink and have some bubbly.

And You?

I always choose Paris. We also like Rome, but I find it to be more chaotic. I have a list of things I've seen in Rome, in terms of crazieness and/or human suffering, that I wish I hadn't.

I think Paris is exciting and easy, all at the same time. I like the politeness, and the handsome, friendly police officers. And it is clean and pretty.

Rome is fun, but Paris is fun and nice, too!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I know what that's like.

Like the other posters, I'd choose Paris over Rome. I find Paris less stressful and easier to navigate. And oh, those croissants and that hot chocolate!

So sorry about your mother. I, too, would choose Paris. Perfect place to soothe your senses and your soul.
And DEFINITELY take up the bubbly!! May I also suggest a Kir Royale?

Mamaw: I apologize for not offering my wishes for your mother in my previous post. I am very sorry about her illness.

Now, go get some Paris books from the library! I just got two, and they are so much fun. One is about restaurants called Hungry for Paris, and the other one is a little picture books called Markets of Paris. So much fun.

Definitely Paris - without a doubt! Of all the places hubby and I have travelled to throughout the years, Paris is still #1 for us!

Sorry about your mom....

Those are the first 2 cities on my list of favs...we were in Rome in 07 and plan to be back in Paris in 09. Like everyone said, Paris is soothing and Rome is exciting. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your Mom.
