Yes, Italy uses the euro.

Many (I think especially older) Italians had a difficult transition with prices in Euros, when looking at prospective purchases. Many stores, and even restaurants, post the prices of items in both lire and Euros to make their clientele comfortable. However, it may be that the sites you're viewing are older. You can still figure pricing from lire to euro's by using a rough conversion: for 50,000lire--drop the last 3 0's (=50) and divide by 2 ($25). Should work out to about 24.90 euros or so.<BR>And btw, the Italian euros are quite lovely! Each country mints their own, so you'll see different ones during your stay.

I might suggest a simpler way to figure the value of lire versus the euro. Approximately 2,000 lire equal one euro.
