Does Italy use the Euro?
I mean, I know they do, but I still find so much referring to lira (sp?). That fact makes me wonder if I'm finding old websites or what.

Here is one example:
http://home.venere.it/roma/guida/monumenti.html

If I find price lists that do not have prices in euro, should I assume they are older and possibly inaccurate?

Yes, Italy uses the euro.

Hi,

Italy does use the Euro so the list is probably older.

Regards

TBS

Many (I think especially older) Italians had a difficult transition with prices in Euros, when looking at prospective purchases. Many stores, and even restaurants, post the prices of items in both lire and Euros to make their clientele comfortable. However, it may be that the sites you're viewing are older. It might be helpful to check the bottom of the web page to see if the webmaster has listed the last time it's been updated.

Buon Viaggio,
BC

Thanks folks. I'll keep hunting until I find prices in the euro then.

You can still figure pricing from lire to euro's by using a rough conversion: for 50,000lire--drop the last 3 0's (=50) and divide by 2 ($25). Should work out to about 24.90 euros or so.
And btw, the Italian euros are quite lovely! Each country mints their own, so you'll see different ones during your stay.

I might suggest a simpler way to figure the value of lire versus the euro. Approximately 2,000 lire equal one euro.
