Leaving 4/28/09 for a two days in Assisi then a week in a villa in Montisi and then on to Croatia (Dubrovnik, Trogir/Split, Plitivice, Opatija, Zagreb). Returning to L.A. 5/23/09. 3rd visit to Italy and 1st time to Croatia. Looking forward to really seeing Tuscany. Very excited about all of Croatia. We have airline tickets and some acommodations. Cannot book flights on Croatia Airlines or accommodations in Opatija - too early.

5 weeks from today..actually a little less....my flight would have already left Tampa at 12:35 pm. I would be enroute now....

Flying into Paris home from Rome.

We leave 9/7 return 9/26

Can't wait...4th trip to both for me but 1st trip for both my sisters. They have heard me rave on it so much that I finally convinced them to go and they agreed as long as I would be their tour guide....gee...tough job for me huh ???

We leave on September 24 for 2 1/2 weeks in Salzburg, Bologna, Milan and Lake Como. Have made some reservations (Last Supper, etc.), but I know I have to start making B & B and apartment reservations soon (like yesterday). Already have started collecting my trip essentials to see what needs refreshing from last year.

Next trip is Oct 15-29, into Amsterdam, on to Belgium, then Paris. After that, March 09, Rome. Still working on hotels for October trip. Can't wait for both trips, one with DH, one with a long time friend. First time to Belgium and Rome, second time to Amsterdam and Paris. DH and I are into WWII sites, saw Normandy last time in France, will see Bastogne and area this time. Good travels to all.

Tomorrow we're off to St. Pete beach Florida - renting an apartment for some R&R and time with all of my family who reside there...

Last week in November off to Italy for a week in Rome and a few days in Perugia with my daughter to celebrate her 18th birthday with our friend who lives in Rome (my former college mate, we met in Rome doing study abroad and remained best friends) - my friend and my daughter are born a day apart (and years apart of course)- se we'll be celebrating birthdays and sending my daughter off to college. It will be a real "girls vacation."

...then we'll settle down & save some shekles for a summer trip to Israel for 3 weeks (G'willing).

Happy travels!

Next trip: August 25th (just 9 days away) I fly to London (on FF Miles w/AA)staying at the University of Westminster dorm rooms for 3 days (been to London many times...my favorite city).

Then fly (BA) to Amsterdam (never been there)and stay for 7 days. It looks like a very exciting city and can't wait to see the canals, Anne Frank house, parks, cafes, etc.

Then on Sept 5th back to London again staying at the Univ of Westminster dorms in London for 4 nights and will do theater, probably "Jersey Boys", "Wicked" and "We will rock you". Also, plan on seeing the "Tower of London". Since I've been to London many times I've already seen quite a bit. I'll buy an Oyster card for transportation around London on the Tube and buses. I have a good friend in London whose the greatest tour guide.

I'm ready for my trip, I totally love Europe and have been to Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England (all over), Germany, France, Italy (Rome, Venice, Verona, Bologna), Prague, Austria, and next Amsterdam.

I sometimes travel alone and sometimes with friends. This trip I'll meet up with a friend in London, but be on my own in Amsterdam.

Anyone going to Amsterdam between August 29th and Sept. 5th want to meet for lunch?

65 days to Italy! Second trip there. Almost ready - still have to arrange transportation from home to the airport, and notify the bank and credit card companies.

Most looking forward to spending time in the Tuscan countryside (first time there) and enjoying the food and wine.

Sixteen days before we go to France. This is our 28th trip to Europe and 8th time in France. It's a special year, as last Sunday the family celebrated my 70th birthday. Actually, it is in November, but with the grandchildren going off to college and my daughter leaving in their RV, an early party was appropiate. So, we leave on the 12th of September and return on the 5th of October. We meet friends in Brittany for the last 8 days. This will be a driving tour as most of our trips are. Easy driving in France, although we try to stay out of the big cities. We will stay in Burgundy [3], Lyon [3], Prades [3], Terraube [2], outside of Bordeaux [3], Nantes [2], Quimper [2], Vergoncy [3] and Versailles [1]. We are prepared, but our plans are always flexable. Our method is to see as much as possible. We are ready. Voila Iris
