Need help finding hotel:
We are a family of three. Two Adults one 17 year old. We will be driving from La Seu D'rgell and want to spend three nights along the beach before retuning to Barcelona.
Could someone reccomend a nice beachfront hotel that isn't super touristy. I thought I found the perfect one ,Aigua Clara hotel in Begur, but they don't have any openings.
If anyone read my other postings I had thought that we were going to stay at the Hotel Zenia. However I was mistaken, it was completely in the wrong geographic area.

I don't know where Le Seu D'rgell is, but we stayed at the Hotel Aiguablava a few years back, and liked it. But, I don't know if I would say it is not touristy...I think all the occupants were tourists, but I could be wrong.
There are some recent posts on this with some other suggestions for that area. I did a quick search and saw some postings from earlier this year (including one from this month, where I replied to someone else about the Hotel Aiguablava). Sorry, that's all I know about in the area

We have seen this place and I could stay here. Not luxurious but pleasant. I would NEVER take half board anywhere civilized . You are going to want to go out for tapas and explore, not sit in the same place twice a day.

and this place looks ok too. Nice area, that's for sure.

Good luck.

I have been looking around. The town of l'esqala looks interesting and with good beachs. Also town and the ruins.
I have looked at two hotels Hotel Bonaire and La Esqala. Do you know anything about these two? Any other beach side hotels in this town?
Also looked at Hotel Sagaro that also looked promising. I just liked the thought of the old town and ruins + beach time

We enjoyed the Parador Aigueblava. www.maribelsguides.com has lots of suggestions for Spain including the Costa Brava.

I know zilch outside of what I have told you. Sorry.
And if returning to Barcleona on a Sunday evening.. go VERY early to avoid the several hour traffic jam all the way back to the city. Same for leaving the city on a Friday. Leave before 4 pm to avoid most traffic, even earlier is better.

You say you stayed at the Parador Aigueblava...How was the beach area? No pictures available. The only thing I can find is that it is a steep walk..That is ok..I think
I just read some reviews..some were so/so
Others were great
The maribelguides sight is also helpful
thanks
