Cigarette brands in Spain

I know this question will annoy many Fodorites, and many posters will like to respond by advising me on the evils of smoking ! However, some of us are addicted to nicotine, and we cant help it.
Are the usual international brands of cigarettes available in Spain, or do they have Spanish brands ? Any particular Spanish brands that you recommend ? How expensive is a pack of cigarettes in Spain ? (I know some countries have levied huge taxes on cigarettes to discourage its consumption, hence this question).

Sorry for re-posting this question. I think I posted the previous question (identical) at the wrong place, instead of posting it in Spain, hence the repetition.

Here we have every international brand, as well as good locals. (I knew a place in Madrid that had brands you'd never heard about, but that's another story).
I quit smoking some 20 yrs ago (when I began painting, incidentally), but I'll go to the Tobacconist's (here it is ESTANCO)and ask about prices.

No problems Josele, its not too important. I think I will just bring my stock with me. And thanks once again for all your help in planning our trip. We leave for Spain in 4 days, and hope to see you in Malaga on 4th or 5th Sept if you are there.

Your stock coming into Spain is limited to 10 packs of 20 cigarretes, per person.
More than that could be taxed or rejected at the border control.

Be aware that cigarettes in Europe, despite an identical brand name, can taste quite differently than what you are used to depending on the tobacco blends/tobacco origins used when manufactured.

Cigarettes are still very cheap in Spain. Marlborough 3.10 Euro a pack in the machine, or 2.90 i think in the tabac (shop).
Standard brands like camel and luckies are 2.55- 275 depending.
You can also get really cheap, really bad quality Ducados which are not recommended.
Spain passed a law that bars and restaurants must choose smoking or non smoking, or have smoking areas. in most places you can still smoke though.

travel_buzzing, that's a nice way to spell Marlboro...
Just back from the Estanco. Marlboro, Winston or the local Fortuna, 2,40 eur a pack. Ducados virginia style (we call it tabaco rubio, blonde) is cheaper, 2,20. Imported as Chester, Camel is 2,60. You can buy in the street imported USA virginia brands cheaper, some under-the-counter way.
I recommend to buy at the duty-free, and get used to the local way while it lasts.
Lately we have high taxes on tobacco. Our government says they care for our health, but it is a lie (surprise?), it is only for the money.

travel_buzzing, prices I give are at the Tobacconist's, official prices in all the country. In bars, kiosks, machines, a % increase is permitted, and in some places you can buy the imported US brands which are higher in price.

Street vendors sell brands like Marlboro but one never knows if they are real or cheap knock-offs.

Ducados are really strong! I brought back a carton for a blind co-worker at his request. He loved them! When he was outside on a smoke break, people would hit him up for a cigarette. He gave a couple of them Ducados - they stopped mooching off him.
You can buy Cuban cigars in Spain.
