Hi Herb!

We stayed at Hotel San Sano near Gaiole in Chianti. Part of a tiny, tiny village on a hill (of course) in the middle of olive groves & vineyards. Completely untouristy. Just a few rooms in a restored stone building. Thick walls, original timbers in the ceilings, climbing vines. Breakfast included, dinner optional by advance reservation. Meals served in the front garden under the arbor. Absolutely perfect & charming little place. There's also a pool.

Village has a wonderful, family-run trattoria too.
You can see them at www.chiantinet.it

Buon viaggio!

Herb:
I have never heard nor seen anything about the Leopoldo hotel in Radda. However, I once looked at Vescine as a possible hotel for one of my sons, which sits pretty far outside Radda on a plain overlooking a beautiful valley. The room shown to me was on the small side and very attractively decorated. It appeared to be a quiet, restful place.
Hope this helps.
Carol L
