Hotel Help in Tuscany

Has anyone stayed in or heard of Palazzo Malaspina in Chianti - Poggio to be specific. It looks good online but would love a live review.

Or...if you can recommend another hotel/b&b in the Chianti region near Siena for no more than $200/night, suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!

In May we stayed at the Belvedere San Leonino which is south of Castellina in Chianti and just north of Siena.

We really like this property. It is situated in the countryside among olive groves and vineyards and has a lovely garden and pool area.

The pensione is charming, clean, and has modern bathrooms. They have a website www.hotelsanleonino.com.

There is a restaurant which has a great buffet breakfast and dinner is served if you sign up in the morning. We had a best Florentine Steak for 4 people.

The rooms are very lovely. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. It is very conveniently located. Nice to come back after a long day of sightseeing and truly relax among nature and the birds.

P.S. It was 130 euros a night. That price makes it sound cheap, but it wasn't in the least.

We stayed at Hotel Santa Caterina in Siena for a reasonable rate 2 years ago. We liked it - not glamourous, just charming with a B&B type of feel. Also has a great outdoor garden/patio area overlooking the tuscan hills in the back.

I second Belvedere San Leonino! Private, quiet, beautiful. Sitting out by the pool area having a beer when in the Tuscan countryside we hear someone playing a flute. Memorable!
