We just got back from a 5 night trip to London where we stayed at the Chesterfield.
We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and will stay there for our next visit. It was clean, extremely 'British', located conveniently, and the staff was warm and accomodating.
The Red Lion pub just down the street serves great fish and chips (with mushy peas!).

Leslie,

The Chesterfield Mayfair is a 4+ star hotel, in a great location (not directly on major roads). Hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the Green Park Underground station.

We stayed there last summer and were very pleased with the hotel. Furnishings are quality, heating/airconditioning systems are modern, as are baths. Standard rooms are smallish, but fine for two people in one room.

Hotel staff was attentive, but not obnoxiously so.

The Running Footman pub, which is also just down the street, is decent. There are any number of places to grab a quick bit to eat a block or so away from the hotel. The Chesterfield's restaurants are upscale (and the prices reflect it).

All in all, a good choice in this category of hotels.

David White
http://www.KidsToLondon.com

Just got back from my stay in London.

I would *highly* recommend the Chesterfield Mayfair.

It is very quiet and my bed was very comfortable. Great touches everywhere- such as pouporri in dishes and business
implements in the desk drawer and a fax machine etc.
Heated towel rack, large soaking tub and sepearte shower stall in a lovely bathroom. Turn down service and eveing apertif.
Walking distance to west end theaters
and close to many museums.
Green Park tube is close which is a stop on the Piccadilly line right from the airport and the Jubalee line which
I took to many stops.
The staff are gracious and so helpful. The decor comfy. Great coffee.
