Cheaper, Good Hotel in Granada?

Hi,
I just reserved the hotel zaguan del darro for 3 nights, but now I've been reading some posts on other forums about the drains smelling bad in the bathrooms recently. Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice hotel in Granada that would cost about 75 euros for a double room in July? I learned something about myself recently (after a trip to Amsterdam) that I actually think I'd rather have a better room in a worse location than a great location with a smelly room. Thanks for your help!

Hotel Plaza Nueva was 85€ for a double in March 07 but was in a great location and was a very nice hotel. The plaza outside was a bit noisy late at night on weekend nights but that was my only complaint.

Hi

The reviews on Trip Advisor of Hotel Zaguan del Darro weren't too bad - http://tinyurl.com/4couq8. Quick scan of posts didn't indicate problems with plumbing. The last review is Nov 2007 though. Plumbing might be a recent issue.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking at the reviews here:
http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/zaguandeldarro.en.html

Unfortunately many of the recent ones mention the smell.

Hopefully it's a problem they'll be able to fix.

Just browsing on www.booking.com or www.hotelius.com I've seen a lot of hotels round that price or cheaper for a random date in July. Look at them with your exact days.

This info might be too old, but in Sept 04, we stayed at a very nice little hotel. They did not have a dining room but the location was very good and there were many places to eat nearby. Plus, the churros in Granada were the best we had anyplace and we would not have found them if our hotel had inc breakfast!

We paid about 37e/dbl but I'm sure their prices have gone up. The hotel was very clean and a great find. They have a website:

Good luck,
Sandy (in Denton)
