Hotel in Granada

I am having a tough time deciding on where to stay in Granada. I have read posts on this site and, as expected, am getting mixed messages on where is the best place to stay. I am looking at the following hotels:
Reina Cristina
Hotel Residencia Macia
Hotel America
Any feedback on these choices would be appreciated. We will not have a car so parking is not an issue. We like to be close to restaurants but we also like quiet when we are trying to sleep so that is part of my indecision as to whether to stay up by the Alahambra or downtown.

I stayed at Reina Cristina. If noise is a problem with you, that is not the place for you, especially the rooms that overlook the street.

I don't recognize the hotels you mentioned but I do remember that there were two hotels located right at the Alhambra which we wished we had considered. The Alhambra was SO cool (and so big!) that the idea of being right there and going in and out throughout the day was appealing. I would think it would be very quiet at night too.

Nancy -

There is loads of feedback already here on each of these hotels, findable via a text search. For example, "type "hotel america AND granada" into the text box at the top of this page; here is a recent thread:

Do the same for the other hotel names to find info re them. From personal experience, I can recommend the Casa Capitel Nazari (www.hotelcasacapitel.com/) near Plaza Nueva, for which you can also text search.

Have a great trip!

The name Hotel America does ring a bell so it may have been the smaller of the two that were right there. If I were more organized, I could tell you!
