Cheap-O accommodations for four near Paris CDG airport

We will be arriving CDG from Athens the evening of July 18, 2011. Our flight back home to the US is the next morning. I don't want to hassle with catching trains and all from central Paris - any ideas for an affordable nights sleep for a family of four? Ideally they would have a shuttle or some sort of transportation to and from the airport? (I'm not sure how this all works over there).

Thanks!

Well, the F1 at CDG is 39€ per room, but the showers and toilets are outside the room.

Next step up is the Etap next door for 44€ (bathroom in room) or the Première Classe (about the same).

Next step up is the Ibis next door again.... (actually, the Accor hotels... F1, Etap, Ibis... are the same complex with the same shuttle).

You can keep going up in price from there, depending on the comfort level that you require.

Premiere Classe Roissy usually your cheapest bet...

Trips/Quads from 40eu/nt on www.booking.com

If you do not mind bidding priceline.com hotwire.com

you can pick up better stuff even cheaper for me recently

the in Airport Hotel Sheraton I think won the bid $40 or so.

Oustanding room for an outstanding price was an

www.spg.com member even got a room upgrade.

Even you do their AMEX card get some points even stay

for free with them have done that also.

Happy Hunting,

There are also a few options at the Parc des Expositions, one ReR stop away from CDG towards Paris. Prèmiere Classe Roissy Villepinte Parc des Expositions, All Seasons Parc des Expositions de Villepinte, or the Ibis Parc des Expositions Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris -- are all options only a few minutes away from the terminal. It's a short walk from the station to any of these.

My sister-in-law, her husband and child stayed at the Airport Hotel Sheraton and LOVED it. And spent quite a bit more than $40. So if you can get that price, go for it!

I stayed at the Hilton and noticed there was an Ibis very close. I liked it because you could take the airport train and not have to deal with the shuttles (I am sure the Shearton is nicer, but I had more "Hilton Points" to burn for a free room )

We stayed in this place Akena City Saint Witz, about 10 minutes north of CDG with this view:

It was clean and reasonable, with an extra saving with an on-line reservation. It is a fenced hotel, requiring a code to get in late at night or very early (6 a.m.) in the morning to get into the parking lot. The Buffalo Grill actually has decent food--sort of Tex-Mex, and there is a pizza place next to it.

Got to agree with Qwovadis, I've had a lot of success using priceline for airport hotels. I'm sure you can get a 4-star for under $100 bucks, my lowest has been $60.

We've stayed at the Ibis a few times - not the Ritz but gets
the job done with the least hassle/money.

If you do go to the Ibis be sure you get the right one b/c
there are 3 around the Roissy area but only one right at CDG.

My family of three stayed at the F1 (Formula One) in Beauvais, the rooms will be the same. Very compact with external shared bathrooms & toilets, but clean and adequate, especially if you just want a place to crash.

Also stayed in lots of Ibis hotels, they are generally 18 sqm with compact but well designed bathrooms.

ONE of the things I don't like about F1 is there is no one on call at night.(At least where I stayed in Spain). I found that to be very upsetting.

If you do go to book a hotel check out ryanair and easyjet websites also as SOMEtimes their rates have been lower than what I have found elsewhere.

The big F1 at CDG has 146 rooms, so it probably has a 24 hour desk person. Most of the F1 motels along the roads only have about 30 rooms -- and they all do have an "emergency" buzzer since the manager lives on the premises.
