Best Hotel at CDG?

Hello, Anyone have advice on the best hotel to stay in for one night at CDG. We will be there for 1 night next summer traveling between DUB and NAP. We get in around 2 PM and plan on taking the RER down to the city for several hours, then spending the night and catching our 9 AM flight. It will be myself, my wife, and our 2 young children. I know this eliminates the Sheraton and about 90% of the hotels. I saw the Holiday Inn accepts 4 to a room and it looked OK, but I have no experience staying outside of the city. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The Accor chain has several hotels near CDG ranging from pricey to rock-bottom budget. Go to www.accorhotels.com and enter Roissy as the city for which you wish to do a hotel search. The hotels you see will be listed in order of price, most expensive first. Your best budget choices are the ETAP Hotel Roissy CDG Paris Nord 2 and the Formule 1 Roissy CDG Paris Nord 2. Going up the ladder you could pick one of these three Ibis hotels: Paris Charles de Gaulle Aeroport/Terminal, Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle, or Roissy CDG Paris Nord 2. All of these are on the route of the free Aeroports de Paris shuttle bus.

Sheraton is most convenient if you can budget it, train is right outside the lobby....they have some summer promotion rates and a special "2nd room at half price" for families.

Country Inn Suites can accomodate 4 persons but must shuttle to the train and last shuttle is 1am

The suggestion for the Sheraton is a great one. I just got back from Paris yesterday, had spent my last night at the Holiday Inn by the CDG airport. The shuttle to terminal 1 took over 35 minutes! That airport is huge and spread out. By staying at the Sheraton since it is connected right to the airport, you would avoid having to deal with waiting for the shuttle, then all the stops they make. I'm not sure how far the RER is from the Sheraton, but it would be closer than any other airport in the area.

Why dont you try to place a bid with priceline for hotels located at CDG? I placed a bid of 100 US dollars and the Sheraton accepted my offer.
Why dont you ask for a king size bed?

Thanks for the replies so far. Based on your messages the Novetel is now my default hotel instead of the Holiday in. It is much closer, accepts 4 guests per room, and the rate is ridiculously low (100USD). I would still prefer the sheraton because it is so easy and convienent though. But the cheapest room seems to be about 275USD and since I need 2 there is a price difference of about 450USD. I looked at Priceline, but it is a crap shoot. It seems I am just as likely to get the Hyatt as I am the Sheraton. If anyone has other suggestions, please let me know. I will look into the 2nd room discount, but since I am traveling in 12 months, I am not sure how many promotions I will currently find. Thanks again for your quick responses.

The Latin Quarter is closer to T2 than the Holiday Inn. CDG is a 35-minute run from RER St-Michel Notre-Dame, so there are actually a lot more choices than just those around Roissy.

We stayed at the Roissy Suitehotel (an Accor brand) at CDG a couple of weeks ago for one night. Our room was 79 euros (including coffee and croissants for breakfast), and fit two adults and two kids easily. It is was very clean, and the room had three beds, a queen and two twins with a curtain separator. There was also a small playground down the street. We took the shuttle back and forth from the airport without any problems, and it was free. The only hitch is that there are two Suitehotels that pick up at the airport, using two different shuttles, so make sure you take the right one!
