Chamonix in Mar/Apr?
I love mountains, but for hiking, not skiing. I'm planing a trip to eastern France for the end of March - beginning of April - BA and Air France have some hard-to-resist fares. If I were to arrive in Chamonix the very end of March, would it still be too snowy for hiking?

Thanks. I guess I'll head for Lyon instead. How about Annecy? Will that still be snowy too?

In March mountains have snow. (Some roads don;t open until June.)

Only lowlands will be snow free - but likely muddy.

I am going this weekend to ski for the week. I hope its too snowy to hike!
