car rentals in Italy

I've been reading on this forum that one must take the rental car company's insurance when renting in Italy. I've been looking at three different rental companies: AutoEurope, Nova and Transhire. I know most people here have used the first one. But has anyone used Nova or Transhire? Transhire offers complete insurance with no deductibles.

We've used both autoeurope and Nova, and both experiences were positive. Things went slightly more smoothly with nova, but nothing really negative about autoeurope.

Just a suggestion. If you are from the US or Canada, AutoEupope is a US company. If you have any problems you can deal with them here. I don't know the other companies at all.

We used autoeurope a few months ago, and had a wonderful experience with them!

Hi N,

AutoEurope also offers no deductible.

For a small fee they will reimburse you for any charges from the rental agency, in the same way that your credit card would in other countries.
