Auto Hire
I was wondering about suggestions for best auto hire in Italy. Have rented before, but not really satisfied with high rates. The best service with good rates I've gotten is from NOVA out of Ireland/UK. Anyone have any ideas??

We've always used AutoEurope to rent in Italy. We've always found the best rates there and have had good service. Remember, you are also getting insurance, not just a rental car. At least that's the way it is for us Americans, don't know about EU members.

Search this site for AutoEurope. You'll see hands down most people prefer them. It's an American company and it includes all of the insurances not just the CDW. They use Avis, Hertz and still come up with better rates. Avis and Hertz only include mandatory CDW in Italy. For Italy only, AutoEurope also includes fire, theft, etc. which the others tell you later that you need to pay extra for. They also have an agreement that you will get a newer car. Any car we have rented has had 1,000 km or under.

Hi B,
AutoEurope will also match the NOVA rates.
Also try autoeurope-UK

An alternative to AutoEurope is their sister company Kemwell and sometimes Kemwell will give you a slightly better rate for the same car. i always check them both, have used them both, and have been thoroughly satisfied with both.
You hear a lot about AutoEurope here but, frankly, if you don't compare these two suppliers, assuming they are both operating in the same city, you may pay too much.
