buying advance museum tickets in Paris

Is there anywhere one can buy advanced museum tickets for The Louvre, d'Orsay Museum, and St.- Chapelle? Internet sales seem to be both expensive and have the need to navigate complicated sites.
Do Tourist Offices sell them? Can you collect at a Tourist Office if purchased on-line.
We only want to do these 3 museums for one day (with the Louvre a night visit), and do not want a multi day Pass.
Any advice out there please? We shall arrive at Gare du Nord where I believe there is a Tourist Office.
Thanks
Grandma Carol

There is a two day museum pass option which covers all the attractions you are listing. You can order it online at http://en.parismuseumpass.com/. They send it by express mail, so you will get it very quickly, takes only a few days.

You can also pick your museum pass up at one of those museums. We purchased ours at the Orsay. The pass is great for avoiding the long lines.

It looks like you can buy some tickets on the Paris Tourist Office website and pick them up at one of their offices - check out Parisinfo.com - don't know about the cost though....you can also buy museum tickets at a FNAC store...

You can buy tickets for any museum at the numerous FNAC stores. There is a big one at Bastille and another on Blvd St Germain. I never get my money's worth out of the museum pass. I don't want to spend 2 or 3 days inside museums. My eyes cross after too much beauty all at once. There is also a ticket store in Carousel de Louvre, I think it's Virgin, they sell tickets. You can enter the Louvre thru the carousel entrance. There are never any lines and you can buy your ticket from a machine

Am I misreading your post? Do the advance tickets to the Louvre cost more than tickets purchased at the museum?

YOu cannot buy advanced tickets on the Louvre's website, they refer to a ticket agents where you can (I believe FNAC,ticketnet and ticketweb). I think there is a law that they can't mark them up that much, but of course, they aren't charities so aren't going to sell them at face value. The convenience fee is only about a euro, as I recall. No place is going to sell tickets without a service charge other than the museum. I don't see the point as you have to go pick them up at the store, anyway. You can buy them in person if you go to the store, anyway, so why buy them online in advance? They aren't for any particular date or time.

The above post about money's worth was referring to a museum pass, not a single ticket. There isn't really any reason to buy a ticket in advance for any museum IMO -- except for the Orsay, which is the only one where it can take a long time, in my experience, at least at certain times of day and seasons. The lines at the machines at the Louvre move pretty quickly, it would take you longer to go to/from the store, obviously. I think you can buy them without a markup online from the tourisme website, and pick them up at their main location near Pyramides metro stop. You are practically at the Louvre, then. That might not be too bad an idea if you buy one for the Louvre and Orsay as you can use them any time.

OK, I see. That is the Lourve's site, but they direct you away to actually make the purchase.
