Genuinely good fare(s) if you only want to go to London (well, I did not check fares to an extensive list of other destinations) - - but for at least one sample itinerary (one that I am seriously, actually considering: EWR-GLA/CDG-EWR on Nov 25-30), it's actually cheaper to just do a plain old Expedia search. $371.20 with all taxes and fees - - available last week and still available today. While there is a BA fare for "$200" (plus $130 in taxes), it would cost us more to add on the separate fares to/from Scotland and Paris.

My point is simply to look into all the options, especially if you are contemplating a fall getaway with more than one potential destination other than London.

Fares are good from October 28.

From late October the fares have been there for a LONG time.

The fall is my favorite time of the year to visit London. Just booked my trip yesterday. One caveat about the cheap farew on BA - if you are in their frequent flyer program you will only get credit for 1/4 of the miles you flew. I paid more with AA but I will get 12,000 miles credit, plus 1,000 because I booked online. I have had 2 free trips to Europe and now am getting closer to a free trip to New Zealand.

Yes and always worth remembering if you're an AAdvantage member you get zilch on BA-operated flights to/from the US, but full credit (depending on fare class) on Canada-UK flights. Note that the sale does not seem to apply to departures from Canadian airports (nothing cheap on BA's Canada website.)

The lower-cost WT+ fares may be attractive from the east coast; they're not much of a bargain from the west coast, at least the routes I checked.

The mileage issue about AAdvantage members flying BA from US-UK is <b>mostly</b> true but as always there are couple of exceptions.

AA started codesharing with BA on couple of routes. I believe they are:

ORD-MAN and JFK-MAN.

So, If you buy AA coded ticket on these flights you will get full mileage plus any elite bonus, even though the flights are operated by BA.

It's saying that midweek fares are good also from Dec. 24th to March 13th, 2005. Sounds good offhand. They're advertising from the west coast $198.00 one way to London-not sure about the details though.

To get the best fares to London, Paris and Rome starting on Oct.28th, you need to travel MON-WED. The ticket has to be purchased by Sep.24th(I think).

No, Sept. 23rd is the expiration date.

These sound like winter fares, not autumn fares. I've seen several other airlines already with cheap fares for winter -- quite a lot, actually, but I get fare notices from Travelocity for particular routes.
